  General Office Security

The following is a list of general office security suggestions for establishing internal security procedures:

  • Limit office keys to essential personnel only.
  • Maintain comprehensive and current records documenting the distribution of all office keys.
  • Implement consistent procedures for collecting keys before an employee’s termination.
  • Enforce a strict policy against leaving keys unattended on desks or cabinets.
  • After unlocking filing cabinets, ensure that the keys are removed and stored securely.
  • Authorize only responsible individuals to issue keys and prevent unauthorized persons from reporting lost keys for replacement.
  • Organize key storage systematically within a secure wall cabinet, using either a customized system or a commercial key control system.
  • Require identification from repair personnel entering the office premises. Clear desks of important documents.
  • When working alone in the office at night, secure the front door to prevent unauthorized entry.
  • Display prominently the contact numbers for the police, fire department and building security. Verify that all doors are securely locked before leaving the premises.

Suspicious Persons

If you see suspicious or offensive persons in the building, please call Security immediately at (949) 285-2589. If possible, make note of appearance, clothing, etc. in order to assist building security in locating them.

Stay vigilant regarding unfamiliar individuals in your tenant areas and hallways. Politely inquiring, "May I help you locate someone?" can often discourage potential theft. Any concerning or suspicious encounters of this nature should be reported immediately to Security.
